Susan's practice covers all aspects of commercial real estate law. She represents owners of multi-family housing, condominiums, hotels, and office properties in complex real estate transactions, including sales, acquisitions, and financings. Susan has extensive experience in commercial real estate leasing matters. She represents landlords and tenants in the leasing and subleasing of downtown and suburban office buildings, and research/development facilities.

Prior to joining Riemer & Braunstein, Susan was of-counsel in the real estate department of a large Boston law firm where she worked on a wide variety of sophisticated real estate transactions.

Representative Transactions

  • Represented developer in $150 million construction loan transaction for a mixed use development in Miami, Florida, containing over 400 residential condominium units, a multi-story office condominium, and retail buildings
  • Represented the buyer in a $27 million acquisition of an apartment complex in North Carolina, including the assumption of HUD insured debt
  • Represented developers in various tax deferred exchange transactions involving the purchase and sale of properties in Massachusetts and other parts of the country 
  • Represented the landlord in a complex lease transaction involving the leasing of over 100,000 square feet of a space to a company for its new headquaters building
  • Represented a foreign pharmaceutical company in the leasing of its first research facility in the United States
  • Represent the owner of an office park in Sudbury, Massachusetts in the leasing and development of space for a variety of uses, including the recent development of a new medical office building
